North Holland - Centre Democrats

The list includes twelve candidates, most of whom have long walk around with the CD. Remarkably, the current parliamentarian Wim Elsthout Haarlem in second state. The region Kennemerland represents the strongest on the list. This probably has something to do with the circle of success Haarlem. Haarlem itself, four candidates from Bloemendaal, Tucked up against Haarlem, two. From the region Ijmond, that also falls within the scope of Haarlem, are four candidates. Amsterdam and Amstelveen deliver one each. The male / female ratio is four women and eight men. The ages vary greatly, the youngest candidate 18 in the oudste 68. The average age is about 43.

The party leader is the former Beverwijkse councilor Cornelis (Color) Schorel (1941). He lost his seat at the last local elections for the CD in Beverwijk. It was thought that Schorel would have gone over to the newly established New National Party (NNP). The far-right party held at 17 oktober 1998 an inaugural meeting in Vught and Schorel was present. He's definitely from 1991 active in the CD and in 1994 in Beverwijk council elected. In third place is the former councilor Velsen Jolanda van Veen-van den Broek (1966) from IJmuiden. Together with her husband Gijsbertus Nicolaas Johannes (I Would Be) van Veen (1964) she sat until March last year for the CD in the council. Ben van Veen is now the bottom of the list on the CD-list. His daughter Adriana Johanna (Adele) Elsthout-Gilles (1965) and his wife Cornelia Elizabeth (Color) Gilles-of Heuzen (1932) are on the list. Respectively, on the eleventh and tenth place. Adele Elst Wood-Gilles is the wife of Wim Elst Wood. She also made in the mid-eighties Centre Party switched to the CD and was already five times previously candidate for CD. The Fans

North Holland is divided into three electoral districts. These are Daman, Haarlem and Amsterdam. Because the CD already has a seat in the States, it can opt for a centralized submission. One must then a, identical for each constituency, candidate at the Polling Haarlem hand, and that one has, therefore, been. These three identical lists of candidates must be equally well supported by at least thirty voters inhabitants of each constituency. At the 32 North-North Hollanders who have put their signatures are thirteen newcomers. The remaining nineteen are known CD'ers and people who signed an electoral list once before. By building up the list of the thirteen newcomers (couple, father and son, come from small provincial towns) and the presence of the nineteen known CD'ers we can draw the conclusion that in the constituency Daman no signature-recruitment practices have occurred. At least not on a large scale.

Most supporters come from Purmerend (nine) which of course is not surprising given the success of the CD in the past. In 1994 the party won two seats here after all. Yet it is not to draw this line to Hoorn where only one letter of support comes from. From Zaandam, five signatures and also the coastal village Greeting (just above Alkmaar) able to produce this number. The region Alkmaar anyway represents strong. Alkmaar itself, four signatures. From Egmond aan Zee and two from Bergen and South Scharwoude each one, giving a total of thirteen in this region. The De Boer family in Zaandam not lacking. Patricia Catharina Adriana (Patriot) Peters de Boer put a few times before a signature for the CD and visits in 1994 of schietclub Smooth. The remaining 31 supporters are known CD'ers and people who supported the party once before. Especially the fused locations Beverwijk (fourteen), Heemskerk (two) and Velsen Noord (three) are strongly represented. IJmuiden, which is also located in this region Ijmond, still delivers six support statements, that this region with 25 CD'ers though more than half of the total yield. The Haarlem region follows up with a total of twelve. Eight from Haarlem itself, two from Bloemendaal and two from Heemstede. Haarlemmermeerse village Zwanenburg also delivers two declarations of support. The region Kennemerland (where Haarlem and Ijmond lie in) therefore provides virtually all signatures. Christiaan (Chris) Postma (1928) Beverwijk is almost certainly from 1991 involved in the CD and was twice a candidate in his hometown.

The couple Rob G. of Eijndthoven (1940) en Gerda van Eijndthoven-Wielenga (1941) from Zwanenburg also been active in the CD. Rob is Eijndthoven 1994 tot 1998 councilor in Haarlemmermeer. Hij is vanaf 1991 Member of the CD and end 1992 the secretary of the department Haarlemmermeerse. A year later, he was put out of the FNV because of his extreme right-wing activities. Also in Amsterdam circle is unlikely to be recruited. Of the 32 supporters are only eight newcomers. De 24 known right-wing extremists who support the list also come from former CP'86- VNN and circles. There is no clear trend discernible from neighborhoods that represents more or less. And also A. Smits (1934), an elderly man who since 1994 has been active for the CP'86. After the split, he chooses the VNN. Despite his age, he is very active. With Milko In. van Kooten (1967) the CD has a far-right violence offender in its midst. He was in October 1996 involved in a racially motivated brawl between a group Gabbers and Turkish youth. Under the direction of Purmerend CD councilor Richard van der Plas bundled these groups at the station in Horn. Van Kooten pulls a knife during these clashes. Later some of these Gabbers arrested. Milko van Kooten this gets six months in prison, half of which conditionally. In 1998 he is a candidate for the CD in Purmerend where he still lives. Meanwhile he has to register with the CD'er Ruud Enthoven in Amsterdam. However, it is unclear whether he actually lives.

Ook Rudolf (Ruud) Enthoven (1949) himself puts his signature again. He is running for the party since 1991, if he is a candidate for the provincial elections in North Holland. In 1992 He is treasurer of the circle and in Amsterdam 1994 he was elected to the city council. Enthoven is from the semi-criminal world coming. In the seventies he worked in the hospitality industry and then had 50% his black employees employed. He also had several occasions formal report on discriminating customers.
