Els Suter from Almere conscience. In februari 1999 they are looking for, along with thirty other members of the Society Our Language, good spirits the press. De dertig hebben een initiatiefgroep opgericht om iets te doen aan het onnodig gebruik van Engelse woorden in de Nederlandse taal.
Needless English
The immediate reason for making their initiative known discussion or Netherlands had or not had to submit an English song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Els Suter called the media to report unnecessary use of English words. There they wanted a “Woordenlijst onnodig Engels” samenstellen. Deze lijst zou vervolgens verspreid moeten worden via scholen, universiteiten en bedrijven. Doel daarvan is om het bewustzijn over de eigen taal te vergroten.
For this purpose she introduced her private address, her home phone number and her cell phone number available. “Because I am not always present, I was addressed the answering service of PTT Telecom, also called voice mail. Now I had some days more than twenty responses on the voice mail, but at twenty messages, the system switches to an automatic voice. While people called the hotline 'unnecessary English language’ they heard a voice who announced that the voice mail hotline "full’ was. That can not” (Trouw 25 september 1999).
Because our expectation was that this initiative forward the Outpost Angle could count, we sent an information pack on Outpost to the workgroup. This is not a bad idea was soon after the first newspaper reports when at Outpost affiliated Independent National Press Office (ONP) made mention of the initiative. ONP came a week later again back on the working group with the information that had already received hundreds of comments.
Lindburg
The initiative Needless English did not respond to our call to potential interested parties from Outpost right to leave. Possible had the enormous interest anything to do with it, but it could also well be that any interest from that corner was welcome. In any case, it quickly became apparent that the extreme right not only had an interest in the initiative, but there was directly involved in.
One of the people who stood at the cradle of the working group was in fact the retired Hans Lindenburg from De Meern (Utrecht). Lindenburg is treasurer of the Working Group.
Former CD member Lindenburg was 1992 één van de drie oprichters van het Nederlands Blok. Op dat moment waren er drukke onderhandelingen gaande tussen de diverse extreemrechtse partijtjes om samen te gaan in een nieuwe partij. Als deze bundeling zou slagen was het de bedoeling om verder te gaan als Nederlands Blok. A number of people under the leadership of Alfred Vierling did a coup attempt.
They founded before the establishment of cooperation in a party under the name Dutch Block. Eén van de initiatiefnemers van deze couppoging was Lindenburg. Hij werd penningmeester van de partij en bleef dit tot in 1994.
When he was thrown out of the board by Wim Vreeswijk, of Dutch Block wanted to make a party with a éénpersoonsleiding. This leads to a significant conflict between Lindenburg and Vreeswijk, culminating in a draft action where Linden Burgs house, the windows to the lawn in the front yard under were chalked with swastikas. According to an extreme right-wing source Vreeswijk was the perpetrator.
Hierna maakt Lindenburg de overstap naar een andere extreem-rechtse splinter, de Nederlandse Christen Democraten (NCD). In 1995 he even president of this obscure club, a position he holds to this day. At the same time he is trying for some time to establish themselves the ground within the old parties AOV and the Union 55+. Whether this works or not is not very clear. In any case, he is not seen over time in these circles.
The group fell into a stream of success and decided early 1999 over te gaan in de al bestaande Stichting Natuurlijk Nederlands. Lindenburg had not made really popular within the workgroup. Een woordvoerder noemt hem “erg ongenuanceerd en moeilijk in persoonlijke contacten.” Dit had tot gevolg dat Lindenburg bij de fusie met Natuurlijk Nederlands buiten de boot viel en niet terugkeerde in het bestuur.
Defense Language
Lindenburg did not take this and decided to split off and founded the “Workgroup Taalverdediging” op. It is somewhat unclear what this group does exactly, but in a pamphlet she comes across more radical than the Initiative. Zo wordt er impliciet opgeroepen bedrijven te boycotten die Engelstalige slogans hanteren en stellen de schrijvers van het pamflet: “Aan ons, gewone mensen, ligt het niet. Het zijn degenen aan de top van de samenleving, en de media, reklame, ziekenhuizen enz. die ons de Engelse taal opdringen. Het is de hoogste tijd dat de bevolking zich keert tegen deze ernstige taal en cultuur verarming.”
Deze radicale taal is niet alleen terug te voeren op Lindenburg. Lindenburg is indeed also started looking into his acquaintances to those interested in its Working Group and include Jan Heitmeier from Amstelveen managed to interest. En dat Heitmeier radicaal uit de hoek kan komen is niet verbazingwekkend.
C.H.J. Heitmeier was van 1991 tot en met 1996 CP'86 a very active member in the Amsterdam region. He regularly attended meetings of the party, where he devoted himself to the Dutch culture. Zo stelde hij in 1994 for order CP'86 to baptize in VB department Netherlands and he proposes a section on the Dutch language in the party. Heitmeier runs in this paragraph proposal firmly by. Zo wil hij de Nederlandse televisie-zenders verplichten alle anderstalige programma’s te nasynchroniseren, he wants an active return policy for the position of Surinamese Dutch in South- Strengthen America, wil hij dat de regering bevordert dat het Afrikaans terugkeert als officiële taal van Namibië en stelt hij dat Nederland geen ontwikkelingshulp mag geven aan landen waar op middelbare scholen niet de mogelijkheid wordt geboden om Nederlands te leren.
Additionally Heitmeier for the readers of the Parool a well-known writer of letters to the greater glory of the Dutch language.
Hij maakt zich daarin met name boos wanneer iemand van de regering of het koningshuis een toespraak in het Engels of Frans houdt.
In het Voorpostblad Revolte staat in 1998 een brief van “de heer C.H.J.H. te A. Uit de omgeving van Amsterdam“. Deze brief handelt over het verengelsen van de luchthaven Schiphol (“Schiphol Amsterdam Airport”) en roept op tot het sturen van protestbrieven.
Ook al lijkt Heitmeier misschien een beetje verwarde volksnationalist die zich voornamelijk ernstig zorgen maakt over de teloorgang van het Nederlands, in 1997 blijkt echter dat hij een radicale nazi is. De CP’86 is dan, na ernstige conflicten, gesplitst in een volksnationalistische tak (Volksnationalisten Nederland, de latere Nieuwe Nationale Partij (NNP)) en een neonazistische tak onder leiding van Martijn Freling en Stewart Mordaunt. Heitmeier sluit zich na deze splitsing aan bij de nazistische vleugel en probeert in 1998 handtekeningen op te halen om de CP’86 in Amsterdam aan de raadsverkiezingen mee te laten doen. Iets wat overigens niet gelukt is.
