The extreme right uses migration drama for its own propaganda

Radical groups to Lesbos to act as "journalists’ exploit the refugee crisis. A network of extreme right-wing groups from France, Austria, Duitsland, Belgium and the Netherlands moved to the Greek island of Lesbos in early March to use the migration crisis and the resulting violence as a backdrop for their propaganda videos. This is evident from a study by Pointer in collaboration with Lighthouse Reports.

A radical right wing populist premier?

In large parts of Europe are radical right wing populist parties on the rise. They dominate the polls and knew also cashing in a number of cases in recent elections. The Danish People's Party and UKIP, for example, their supporters to enlarge 2015 substantially with 8,8 en 9,2 percentage points respectively (see Table 1).

Also the 49,9 percent of votes the candidate of the Austrian People's Party did is to achieve in the recent presidential elections, as the result of the referendum on the Brexit, a signal that radical right populist parties gain popularity. There is even a chance that the Norbert Hofer in October yet the presidential election, which because of irregularities on need, wins and thus becomes the first radical right populist president of post-war Europe.

To the promising land

One after another prominent radical-right politician will visit Israel and the occupied territories and expresses support for the struggle for survival of the small country. Especially right-wing Israeli politicians welcome the new allies with open arms.

While mainstream parties have shaken off the ideological feathers, Keep radical right parties in their finery honor. The PVV party family has become commonplace in almost all Western Europe. That does not mean that they are ideologically moderate.

The Vlaams Belang implies Brussel A meeting on the future of Flanders in Europe under the motto “Pro Europe, Against this EU”. The conservative nationalist Thierry Baudet from Amsterdam is one of the speakers. From Sweden is a speaker presence of the radical right Zweden-Democraten, a representative from Austria and one of the FPO in France of FN-youth organization. On Facebook, several Dutch indicate that they want to be here also present.

In het navolgende komen alle klassiek extreemrechtse organisaties die in 2013 actief waren in Nederland kort aan de orde. Nederland kent verschillende extreemrechtse groepen. Die onderscheiden zich lang niet allemaal langs ideologische lijnen. Vaker gaat het om groepen die zich van andere groepen onderscheiden door onderlinge ruzies, incompatibilité d’humeur en persoonlijke conflicten. Maar deze verschillende groepen zijn wel in twee ideologische categorieën in te delen. We maken een onderscheid tussen identitaire formaties, die zich vooral beroepen op een Nederlandse identiteit, en neonazi’s, die zich meer richten op de oude nationaalsocialistische idealen van het Derde Rijk. Na de bespreking van de ontwikkelingen rond deze groepen in 2013 geven wij een beredeneerde schatting van het aantal leden van genoemde formaties. Tot slot kijken we kort naar de veranderende interactie in 2013 tussen klassiek extreemrechtse formaties en de Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV).
