Brown Spam

Anyone who has an email address knows the phenomenon: spam. Spam is unwanted email that was sent, often with advertisements for porn sites, penisvergroting, viagra pills and cheap loans. Almost all spam comes from obscure American organizations. Dutch spam is rare, but does exist. Special is that also makes use of the extreme right there.

As if they were their political activities were not unpopular enough, two right-wing extremists have also recently picked up spamming. Patrick Brown and Ronald van der Wal do everything possible except anti-fascists also hunt the Internet community against itself in the armor. And with reasonable success.

Ronald van der Wal
Ronald van der Wal is an old faithful from the extreme right circuit. He had since 1993 active in CP'86 and there was one of the defining people in the background. He was afraid of media attention for his person and rarely sought the foreground. Only exception was a demonstration of the CD and CP'86 in Zwolle where he walked behind the pontifical kopspandoek next Janmaat. After the demise of the CP'86 Van der Wal ran around at Outpost, but also that he did after some time seen and he was active in the New National Party (NNP). Also at this party, he had a crucial role. He held no function, but was seen as one of the party leaders and was responsible for the website of the party. Eind 2001 Van der Wal seems to have broken with the NNP dissatisfaction with the functioning of the party. From then surfs Van der Wal came through the political landscape. Occasionally he is still on a far-right rally. On the Internet, however, he has been very active for the extreme right thing.

Ronald van der Wal

A fellow right-wing extremist Van der Wal Patrick Brown. De Bruin is a lot less long active in the far-right politics, but also a lot younger. The Brown became 2000 involved in the NNP. He later appeared in the much more radical Dutch People's Union (NVU). For this party, he takes care of some of the Internet activities. He was also recently active for Werewolf, Anti-antifa club Action Front National Socialists (ANS).

Both men are well known to the Internet and knowledge they can use for other things than politics. Ronald van der Wal has been trying for some time to earn some money through the sale of CDs containing millions of email addresses and an instruction how these addresses junk mail can be sent. In the period from July to November 2003 sent Van der Wal whopping 14 time spam to these CDs to the tune of € 500,- to sell. Also Patrick Brown makes regularly guilty of spam and makes it even more colorful than Ronald van der Wal. Only in 2003 already sent De Bruin least 29 time spam with a commercial message. Remarkably, a CD as Van der Wal that for € 500 offers, at The Brown previously was on sale for € 49. Furthermore, trading in the Brown other CDs and tries to bring mortgages to the man, partly because of his houses- and mortgage trading via patrickdebruin.nl.

But De Bruin continues. He used spam for commercial purposes only, but also for political propaganda and action. He regularly sends spam around with extreme right content and tries to make political opponents black by sending spam with a false sender.
The first - we know - spam with political content dates from February 2002. Then sent the emails Brown around with propaganda for the NNP.
Later that year we were themselves victims of De Bruin. He sent a propaganda mail from the Dutch People's Union as spam. When he added the sender address of Kafka. The idea was that we would get all the complaints about us.
Again a month later send an email to De Bruin 160.000 addresses with links to various far-right websites, including the discussion forum Polinco (Politically incorrect). This spam action is unintentional consequence Polinco the Internet is thrown by her provider. Incidentally grabbed De Bruin spamming this time smarter: he no longer used his own computer, but paid someone else to send the spam for him.

Patrick de Bruin

Setback
In the fall of 2003 gets spammed by De Bruin a new dimension with the introduction into the atmosphere of the site extreemrechts.nl. To this site, with links to far-right organizations, only to give name recognition sends Patrick Brown again a spam with the text "Own People First!”. He does this is to group- and board members of the VVD in Leiden. The VVD is not served here and complain ensures that extreemrechts.nl is extracted from the air (#1).
Patrick Brown can not be put off, and the domain is registered extreemrechts.com, when the same content is put (#2). Also this domain makes De Bruin familiar with a spam action. But this time it's not quite right. De Bruin missing a dot between www and extreemrechts.com. Prospective buyers, who clicked through from the spam came not up to the said site. To completely let fail the spam action was wwwextreemrechts.com (pointless) by opponents in use. Then now is to find an article about Patrick Brown (#3).
Again a few weeks later, again done a spam action. This time the sender, the pedophile association Martijn. That organization denies being responsible for the shipment. Martijn is currently under fire from the extreme right. On the day that the spam is sent New Right and the NNP have attempted to demonstrate against Martijn. One of the activists was Patrick Brown.

Because of all these political and commercial spam actions De Bruin has become one of the biggest spammers Netherlands. This title, however, gives him little pleasure. His provider has its site from the net now (#4). But what is more difficult for De Bruin is that he has become a part of the Dutch Internet community laughing stock. That's worse than it looks. These netizens spread namely calls lately widely to bomb Patrick Brown with emails, sms'en, phone calls, unstamped mail and unwanted orders. Geenstijl.nl writes, for example: "At Last, spam action failed and now Spam free (organization that fights spam, Kafka) also another outdated sender. Do you write it as: Patrick de Bruin, Torenvalk ** Veenendaal. You want your letter bullet rather by telephone announce? No problem: 0318-*. Faxes can also, as we read on the website of Patrick: 0847-*. And who wants to send the now familiar GeenStijl bullet-mail to the addresses * en * justly. Bark may, volschijten too ... "Another site, retecool.com, put a "New Year card" for Patrick Brown online, with pre-printed address and the call to send to that port without him. Readers of the site are enthusiastic and send the card in large quantities: "My colleague hit all the way through, but that was, I found. He saw the map, began very wide grin and went to work with a pack of paper 500 well, de hoogvolume-printer die in no-time 500 copies of your card had spat, of vouwmachine, the slicer (godallejezus what that guy fast with those devices :-), and now there are so 500 of those cards ready for shipping.
Whether that is enough, or even a suit that he must do ", he asks. Please your advice. "

These calls have great success. The Brown gets, if we may believe the discussions on various sites, thousands of mail items, it mailbombardementen, SMS bombing and to process such. It is night and day on all its phones calls, its Internet connection is torpedoed and he gets all kinds of pizzas, underwear and other items sent COD. Until recently, Patrick Brown insisted fairly stoic that it would blow over. Whether he thinks that is not yet known, Lately there are no comments from him come out.
