The court in Den Haag condemns an approximately 24-year old man from Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel to ten months in prison, half of which conditionally, for arson at a mosque in his hometown on 7 april 2012. His alleged accomplice was acquitted because his role is difficult to determine. The men defend themselves by claiming that they received and returned remorse for their action to extinguish the fire again. For that purpose they would have smashed windows and they called the fire department.
