A well-known drag queen is out this weekend Amsterdam with two other queens in it Maastricht to perform at the COC. After the performance they have a pub crawl and want to return to the COC. They meet a group of about twelve boys who spit at them and “kankerhomo’s” calls out. One of the drag queens is going to get a story and there is pushing and pulling from both sides. A drag queen is punched. Two passing officers intervene, but stand with their backs to the boys (as if the queens are the aggressor) and call for the queens to leave. The group of boys meanwhile keeps shouting things like: “kankerflikker” en “stay away from me otherwise I get AIDS” call, without the agents responding to it. The drag queens want to file a complaint against the police after this, but it maintains that it has acted correctly.
