A linguistic-stylistic approach of Dutch parliamentary speeches

This thesis developed a method for linguistic-stylistic research that systematically overall impressions of a text can be explained by formulating choices on word- s interest rates. The method is illustrated by means of several case studies, where parliamentary speeches of Geert Wilders (PVV), Ella Vogelaar (PvdA) and Alexander Pechtold (D66) being central. How does the language used by Wilders example to the impression that he is positioning itself as a "political outsider", and a man of the people '? In answering these and other questions will be addressed numerous stylistic phenomena which in the analysis of political language to date has been very little attention.
