The spirit of Pim

Dick Pels describes the development and significance of Pim Fortuyn as a political and media-intellectual. Pels argues that the real challenge of Fortuynism is still insufficient and concluded that the seriousness of the populist criticism of the political establishment has not yet been recognized in its full size. As he evaluates; ideas which style elements are interesting for a new political culture and which should be criticized or contested? Fortuyn was part Pels according to type of dangerous thinkers that a radical friend-enemy uses schedule and according to that model should be driven every political conflict to a head, but saw in him the prototype of the new politician in the media democracy.
