Thierry Baudet addresses a group of protesters in the afternoon who are demonstrating against an emergency law for corona measures. There are protesters from various clubs such as the Netherlands in Revolt. There is a flag of the Dutch Survivors, a club from the corner of QAnon. The demonstration was not reported and in the evening the police send them away. When they come back later in the evening, twelve people are arrested.

Protest against Corona policy

The corona policy is being protested around the Binnenhof and various right-wing extremists are joining this. A banner shows a QAnon slogan. Protesters wear Virus Truth stickers, but that organization denies having organized the protest. There are clashes between protesters and the police. Virgilio Aarsbergen van Voorpost attacks an arrest unit of the police. The police close the Binnenhof. A police officer is injured and eight protesters are arrested. After this demonstration, groups of protesters will hang around the Binnenhof. They threaten Minister Eric Wiebes and MP Pieter Omtzigt.

Who are the people who harass journalists and politicians in the name of "resistance" to corona measures? By them physically, to harass verbally and online, frame them as "child molesters" and distribute their residential addresses? I looked them up for an answer to that question. Welcome to the world of the extreme right, complotdenkers, militant peasants and hooligans.

In this monitor report right-wing extremism, attention is paid to the development of the extreme right-wing field in the Netherlands in 2020. This is done in a longitudinal context, whereby we always place the research period within the framework of a longer development. We first pay attention to the definition and demarcation of the term extreme right. We then provide insight into the manifestations and manifestations of the extreme right. Finally, we will discuss various forms of (government)response to the phenomenon.
Open sources have been used for the compilation of this overview, to a large extent primary sources: Publications, websites and other digital media channels of extreme right-wing organizations and their supporters, conversations with (voormalige) right-wing extremists and observations of public activities (demonstraties) of these organizations. The collected data was further analyzed and framed using existing literature on right-wing extremism in the Netherlands and compared and interpreted with insights from other observers of the extreme right field..
