The Human Rights Board rules on a complaint against a company Zaandam. This company had a vacancy for which they were looking for someone who speaks Turkish. In the fall of 2014 they turned down someone who is not of Turkish descent. According to the Board, there is indirect discrimination here, which is only forbidden if there is no good reason for it. In the field, the staff must be with the elderly, single Turkish people work, who are often illiterate and who have few social contacts. Therefore, the language requirement is justified in this case and there is therefore no prohibited discrimination.
