The Financial Services Complaints Institute rejects a complaint from a Dutch-American man who feels discriminated against by a commercial financial service provider from Den Haag because they end him september 2016 have declined as a customer. Due to US law, the company does not want him as a customer because they risk hefty fines if a “US Person” purchases investment services from an institution that is not registered in the USA. The Complaints Institute states that there is indirect discrimination on the basis of nationality, but that this is objectively justified. There will also be a ruling from the Institute for Human Rights in this case in December 2017.
