A ruling from the Human Rights Board on the actions of the municipal administration of Haarlem. The complaint came from four men in May 2015 were checked because they received benefits and lived at the same address. It concerns three Somali men and an Ethiopian man. The Institute states that there is no discrimination by having conversations with them and making home visits. However, there is discrimination when conducting a fraud investigation against one of the men, because the report of the municipality shows that his origin played a role in this. The municipality had based itself on a newspaper article stating that Somalis commit a lot of fraud and therefore initiated additional investigations.
