Geert Wilders argues with two fellow parliamentarians from the PVV Parliamentary questions about the municipality Almelo which celebrates Islamic holidays. They find it reprehensible that the municipality “the conquest of Islam” promotes. They see Islamic holidays as part of an ideology "it is our way of living together, our culture, identity, rule of law and democracy”. De PVV wants the Minister to talk to the mayor of Almelo en “to strongly advise him to fight rather than promote Islam and its symbols“. Also in the city council of Almelo there is criticism. This is why the municipality is pulling Almelo plans to also turn on the festive lights on a bridge during Islamic holidays.
