There were concerns about traffic, but the mayor accused the residents of Islamophobia. There is an action group for road safety up already 1800 signatures collected against the coming school. Both the neo-Nazi party NVU as a militant Muslim organization have announced demonstrations. A councilor Leefbaar Purmerend is critical to the school and would be threatened.
