Today the Equal Treatment Commission is ruling on the Royal Dutch Hockey Association Nieuwegein who was guilty of making prohibited distinctions based on nationality. The Bond had a hockey club Den Bosch penalized for drafting a South African player in October 2011. Because he came from outside Europe, the Bond applied the rule that he first had to ask permission from the Bond to play. The South African did have a valid residence permit and a work permit, so the rule is discriminatory.
