Several media reports of a criminal case against a 26-year old man from Hoogeveen for two offenses in July 2014. He daubed the window of his ex-girlfriend with the word "whore" and a swastika. The next day he gave a Nazi salute to passing police. He said after his arrest that he saw it as a tribute to the Aryan race. The judge gave him two weeks imprisonment.
