A company from Amsterdam rejects an applicant for the position of Dutch-English translator. It is a man of Afghan descent. They write that they “the mother tongue principle” and that he does not comply. He files a complaint because he feels discriminated against because he was not born in the Netherlands and it is apparently irrelevant how well he knows the Dutch language. There is a ruling in it april 2017.
