In Woudrichem the municipality is organizing a consultation evening about the reception of three hundred refugees in an asylum seekers' center. One of the intended locations is in Andel. This is met with a lot of resistance from local residents. More than 20 concerned citizens will be heard at the meeting tonight. The college of B&W let us know that the plan has been canceled for the time being. After the summer, we will look further. The speakers celebrate it as a victory for democracy.

On two consecutive days, newspapers report several defacements of a construction company billboard in Andel. The slogans are directed against the arrival of an AZC. One day there is “Andel is against” geklad, on the other day “Andel says no to AZC” en “NL is ours!!“. Three more bombs have also been added. The banner of 5 juni has already been removed again.
A news website reports a banner hung in Andel at a location where an asylum seeker center may be established. The banner stands “no AZC” and a bomb with a burning fuse. It is seen as a threat of violence. The municipality recently held an information evening for which eight local residents were registered. More than a hundred concerned and angry residents entered the room.
