A ruling by the Institute of Human Rights in a case of a Turkish-Kurdish woman who in oktober 2016 by a company Rotterdam was rejected in a job application. The woman had insufficient knowledge and skills for the job, but the company also feared that its political views on the “Kurdish question” could lead to cultural tensions in the workplace. As a result, the woman feels discriminated against on the basis of race and political conviction. The Board sees insufficient evidence for this and acquits the company. They don't see it as political affiliation, but only an opinion on a political issue. That is why the Institute itself does not consider itself competent to judge this part. There is insufficient evidence for discrimination on the basis of race.
