Steenbergen city council decides not to hold a referendum on the arrival of asylum seekers. A thousand signatures had been received with a referendum request. The city council thinks it is outdated and a waste of money. The referendum is said to be partly about admitting refugees with a residence status, a topic that has long been off the agenda. Sander Booij of the PVV want this evening on behalf of AZC-Alert will argue in favor of this referendum. Outside, a handful of people are protesting with a banner on which “No AZC!” staat.
