The Board for the Protection of Human Rights jurisdiction in a case of a candidate who Suriname in October 2012 was rejected for a job at a hospital in Rotterdam. Since he is outside of the EU zone, Hospital thought he needed a work permit, but for working students from outside the EU who work up to ten hours a week, this is not necessary. As a result they rejected him for improper reasons and prohibited discrimination on the grounds of nationality.
