A decision of the College voor de Human Rights concerning a complaint from a woman from Curaçao against a recruitment company Rotterdam. She got up 13 May 2016 rejected after a phone call. In this, the recruiter said that she speaks with an accent. In an email, the recruiter also indicated that a course could help her further develop in the Dutch language. After the complaint, the company indicates that the woman made grammatical mistakes in the conversation and gave long answers, that were not unambiguous. The accent was not the reason for the rejection, but only appointed. The Institute therefore sees no evidence for making a prohibited distinction based on race.
