Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the VVD is a guest on a television talk show. He responds to a video in which demonstrating Turkish Dutch people Rotterdam tell a reporter to fuck off. This happened after the failed coup in mid-July in Turkey. Rutte reacts strongly: “my primary first feeling is: lazer yourself. Go back to Turkey yourself. Go away“. Turkey responds negatively to these statements and thinks that these statements damage the joint efforts of integration.
