Election Research councils 2014

In addition there are local parties, without the constraints of a national party, much better respond to local issues and thus can achieve success.

In these elections play there create two more business with that space for small and local parties. First, a widespread distrust of 'The Hague' and the resulting poor forecasts for national parties. Second, the absence of the Party for Freedom (PVV). That Party shall only participate in the elections in Almere and the Hague. In the other counties they abandon its supporters.

The small parties that make use of these opportunities are of very different natures. But it will not surprise you that join the necessary right-wing factions, or factions that are not themselves expressed extreme right, but turn right extremists on their list of candidates.

The number explicitly right-wing parties participating is limited. The PVV has been mentioned. In addition, the Dutch People's Union does (NVU) participate in three parishes: Arnhem, Purmerend and Westland.

In some counties do with factions that are trying to jump into the electoral hole of the PVV. To some extent, it is clearly right-wing parties. Thus, the Parties Free Almelo (PVA) and the Freedom Party Utrecht (PVU) failed to qualify only program as extreme right, but their candidates are also from other right-wing parties. In addition, we see popping up various PVV clones, sometimes populated by (voormalige) PVV supporters, sometimes with programs in line with the PVV ideas. These are local initiatives or in the case of the new game of 'Article 50' an attempt by former PVV'er Daniël van der Stoep. It seems unlikely that the national Freedom Party is involved in the nomination of active PVV MPs from other parties. But surely we do not know.

The number of right-wing extremists that has a long history in all parties, seems to decrease. In the past often found that when a new extreme right party was founded, figures emerged who had a past in parties like the NCE or example, the Center Party. Our impression is that we see much less striking in this election. This may be both better screening opportunities with the advent of the Internet, by the realization that extreme figures both the party and bring themselves into trouble, as the lack of a truly national operating party that accepts members. Nevertheless, we were still a number of former members of the Centre Party and the Centre Democrats against. Furthermore kandi decodes the Roermond department Article 50 'an activist of the fascist youth organization Black Front. It may also be that we see less because the PVV not part of the card having to us look. Incumbent parties can do it in elections with mostly sitting councilors and do not re-collect signatures for election participation. Thus remain known right-wing extremists who support the Freedom Party out of the picture, while that party has shown several times a strong magnet function compared to those right-wing extremists. See Wilders makes new friends’, "Right-wing extremists active in PVV’, ‘Right-wing extremists support Geert Wilders’ en ‘Ruud Sablerolle – PVV coordinator was involved in the New Right'.

On the following pages we present an overview of each province's participation in extreme right-wing parties and parties who have opened up their lists for right-wing extremists.
